Research

The chair's research focuses on the sociology of the life course and comparative welfare state research, with an emphasis on family and work.

From an analytical-empirical perspective, we deal with issues such as the reconciliation of family and work, life course and ageing, gender inequality in income and wealth, and political attitudes. We typically use quantitative methods such as sequence analysis, panel or multilevel regression. We use a mixed methods approach in the international research project MIG-AGE, which investigates healthy ageing and well-being of older migrants in Europe.
