Country-specific information

Information for applications with certificates from certain countries

Certificates and transcripts with "Amtssignatur" do not have to be sent as certified copies by post. This signature cannot be verified on copies. Therefore, please send such certificates with your application number as an e-mail attachment directly to master.studierendenkanzlei(at)uni-bamberg.de.

If you have already completed your studies and the overall grade is not stated in your degree documents, please ask your university to certify the overall grade and send us the original or a certified copy.

In addition to the other application documents, please submit the APS certificate from the APS Peking (Akademische Prüfstelle Beijing) in original or digitally signed form:

Certificates must be provided with an apostille.

In addition to the other application documents, please submit the APS certificate from the APS New Delhi (Academic Evaluation Center New Delhi) in original or digitally signed form:

Certificates must be submitted as copies certified by the German Embassy in Teheran ("Kopiebeglaubigung"). The submission of legalised copies may be necessary in individual cases and will be communicated by the Academic Registrar's Office.

The required documents generally include proof of higher education entrance qualification:

  • Secondary school leaving certificate with list of subjects and grades
  • Pre-university leaving certificate with list of subjects and grades
  • Proof of the university entrance examination

In addition to the other application documents, please submit the original APS certificate from the APS Ulan Bator (Akademische Prüfstelle Ulan Bator), if available.

Dutch universities sometimes issue certificates for their students that are provided with a digital signature and a digital stamp. These cannot be distinguished from a simple copy and are therefore not accepted by us. For this reason, a certified copy of such a document is not possible, as it must be confirmed that the copy corresponds to the original. So please make sure that you receive documents from your university with an original signature and original stamp/seal.

We use the modified Bavarian formula ("Modifizierte bayerische Formel") to convert the overall grade. As maximum grade we use 9. The passing grade is generally 6, but this can range from 6.4 to 5.5. Therefore, please make sure that - if you have already completed your studies - your application documents include the grading system used by your university with the exact passing grade for the bachelor degree.

The higher education entrance qualification includes both the secondary school leaving certificate and proof of having passed the university entrance examination.

Documents that have a verification code (e.g. proof of having passed the university entrance examination) or that can be verified via the e-government portal (e-devlet) only need to be submitted as a simple copy, with an official translation, if applicable.

Please request official transcripts of records from both the high school and the university and enclose them with your application documents or let them be sent directly to the University of Bamberg (by post or by e-mail: master.studierendenkanzlei(at)uni-bamberg.de).

Simple copies of high school and university diplomas are sufficient.

In addition to the other application documents, please submit the APS certificate from the APS Hanoi (Akademische Prüfstelle Hanoi) in original or digitally signed form:
